Ah, it’s that time of year again…my daughter’s birthday! You thought I was going to say Valentine’s Day? That’s just too predictable. She’s going to be 20 this year and I marvel at how lucky I am to have her in my life. We went out the other night and while she was talking to me, I had flashbacks of her as a child - this little happy and beautiful girl. She’s grown into an exceptional woman and I’m endlessly proud of her. She is and will always be my Valentine’s Day gift.
One of my love poems from my second book, The End of the Beginning, is about being in the right place at the right time for love to grow.
Two orchids were placed
in a southern window,
able to touch
only if they bloomed
in the right direction.
To those that don’t have someone to wish them a Happy Valentine’s Day – let me be that person. You are beautiful! You are enough! You are loved!
Let’s talk soon.
