Life Lately

Hello Dear Reader! It’s been a while, did you miss me? 😁

I’ve been quite busy and there are a lot of great changes going on in my life. Most importantly, I am almost done with my third book of poetry entitled, Shadow Work. I’m working with my editor Simon to put the finishing touches on it and then it’s off to the printer! My daughter Sydney has created a beautiful and enchanting cover again for this book. It’s really a dream I never thought I could dream to come true.

Once I get done with that book, I’ll be finishing up my Widow’s Survival Guide and get that into the world.

I've had the privilege of performing at Jenna Joanis’ Rock-citals with her students in June (think School of Rock). She is a gifted musician and teacher (to this point she won Drummer of the Year and Instrumentalist of the Year for the MAMA – Madison Area Music Awards this year) and she forms bands with her students. Sometimes they need vocalists and I was one of three vocalists to help them out. Jenna puts so much effort into her students and these productions with stellar results.

I see the kids blossom playing in bands in front of parents and friends and I see the faces in the audience beaming with pride. It’s a great way to end the school year and for all to showcase their talents and hard work.

I’ve been doing some traveling, mainly to Colorado to visit with family and friends. It’s such a beautiful state and I really feel peaceful when I’m there. I’ll be going to Red Rocks in September to see Brandi Carlile!! I really can’t wait.

This summer, I intend to see lots of live music and enjoy the sunshine with loved ones. Hopefully, you’ll be able to do the same!

Let’s chat soon.

With affection,

Carrie VS
